FAQ

Straight answers, before you book.

The questions women ask Dr. Jacqueline most — about credentials, testing, insurance, and how this clinic is different from what you may have read about the larger brand online.

Is Dr. Jacqueline Berens the same as 'The Wellness Way' national brand I've read about online?+

Dr. Jacqueline Berens, D.C. owns and operates an independent clinic in Greenwood Village / Centennial, Colorado. While the practice carries 'The Wellness Way Centennial' name as part of a clinic network, every patient relationship, treatment plan, lab interpretation, and care decision happens directly with Dr. Jacqueline and her local team — not with a corporate office. Online commentary about the national brand does not reflect how this clinic listens to, tests, and cares for the women who walk through our door.

What are Dr. Jacqueline's credentials?+

Dr. Jacqueline Berens is a licensed Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.) with 14+ years of clinical experience focused on women's functional health — hormones, gut, thyroid, adrenals, and autoimmunity. She works alongside (not in place of) your primary care or specialist team, and refers out whenever a finding falls outside her scope.

What kind of lab testing do you actually run?+

We use established, peer-reviewed functional labs — comprehensive blood panels (CBC, CMP, thyroid with antibodies, iron panel, vitamin D, B12, etc.), DUTCH hormone testing, GI-MAP stool analysis, food sensitivity panels, and targeted micronutrient testing when warranted. Every test we recommend has a specific clinical question behind it. You'll see the results, understand what they mean, and know the plan before you leave.

Do you replace my primary care doctor?+

No. We're additive. Most of our patients keep their PCP, OB-GYN, endocrinologist, or specialist and bring functional medicine in alongside that care. If we find something that needs medical management, we say so clearly and help you coordinate.

Do you accept insurance?+

We're a cash-pay practice, which lets us spend real time with you instead of being limited by what insurance will cover. Many lab fees can be submitted to insurance or paid through HSA/FSA. We also offer financing — see our Financing page for details.

Do I have to live in Colorado to work with Dr. Jacqueline?+

No. Dr. Jacqueline sees patients in person at the Greenwood Village / Centennial office and virtually for women anywhere in the United States. The intake, lab review, and follow-up visits all work the same either way.

How long does it take to feel better?+

Most clients notice meaningful shifts in energy, digestion, and sleep within the first 6–12 weeks once we have lab results and a targeted plan in motion. Deeper root-cause work — hormones, thyroid, gut lining, autoimmunity — typically unfolds over 4–6 months. Your timeline depends on what we find, and we'll be honest with you about it.

How do I get started?+

Book a free discovery call. We'll talk through your history, what you've already tried, and whether this kind of care is the right fit for what you're dealing with. There's no pressure — if we're not the right fit, we'll tell you.
